What do you think they talk about?November 15th, 2005 @ 10:08 am
I read this story today about how this women was the “cool mom” and having parties for underage boys where she provided the booze and drugs (and apparently she provided a little more than just that).
Now, I can appreciate a high school guy. But that doesn’t mean I want to throw them parties and get them drunk (and seduce them).
Then I saw this story about a 37 year old women getting married to a fifteen year old. Who had knocked her up. The kicker? They’ve been together for 2 years. Please tell me what they talk about when they are sitting alone at home together? Does she take him school clothes shopping and help him with his homework?
I’m at a loss.

I saw that today… and wanted to puke. The kicker of her story? Her sob-story about how she wasn’t popular in high school, and “But now I’m fitting in!!” About 20 years too late, I believe…. *shudder*

The world? Its a funny place. And by funny, I really mean truly screwed up at times. I guess what bothers me most about the first and third stories you pointed out is the double-standard. If a guy had been throwing those parties or marrying a young woman like that, he’d be locked up for-absolutely-ever.

I would have suspected that relationships like this one wouldn’t last, but then you read about Mary Kay Letourneau (the woman who started the affair with the kid when he was in his early teens, went to prison, and had 2 kids with him). Mary Kay and the kid are now married.
I can’t imagine what they’d talk about. Maybe they don’t do a lot of talking?

These women must have the lowest self esteems. Women who value themselves just don’t seem to sleep with teens? I guess you just never really know what’s going on in other people’s heads…and come to think of it, I don’t think I really WANT to know

a) that guy’s hot
b) What about Mary Kate Laturnou (really, no clue how to spell that one).
I think it’s low self esteem. Of which I suffer from. But I’d never want a kid. So there goes my theory, huh?

I can’t even appreciate high school boys - I see them running and practicing and they all look so hairless and skinny. And a 13 year old? Good grief, my husband annoys me with 13 year old behavior. I think she wants to be in control there, eh? Much like older man/younger woman relationships.

Rape is rape no matter which way you slice it, and those boys are probably going to feel really violated as they get older and come to terms with what happened. Teenage boys are quite sweet, and youth always has that halo of innocence and hope, which attracts a lot of perverts like the cool mom. But her sentence is particularly harsh, considering that all those Catholic priests who molested small children got off scot free.
