Wants for the new house
February 13th, 2006 @ 11:16 am

Things The King would like in our new house and why. Not in order of importance:

1- Warming Oven - When he first told me this I assumed it was so he could wake up early on Saturday mornings and cook sourdough pancakes for me and junior. He could put them in the warming oven allowing me to sleep in, but still enjoy fresh hot pancakes. Nope, he wants the warming oven so that he can have warm chips and salsa when he gets home from work every day. I guess he really likes warm chips. Learn something new everyday.

2- Garage Door Opener - And not just any garage door opener. No, he wants one that when enabled turns on the warming oven (see #1) to ensure his chips are warm when he walks inside the house.

3- Garbage Chute - The garage will be underneath the kitchen. The King wants a chute from the kitchen to the garage. This way we can just open the chute and throw garbage (and recycling) down it. Long live never having to take your garbage out.

4- Tall Fence - Really, no explanation is necessary. The truth is he wants to be able to use the hot tub (or just mow the grass) in the nude.

5- Hot Tub - See #4.

you are hilarious! I think I might really like your hubby (don’t worry, I’m in the process of getting one of my own)…but I also LOVE warm chips and salsa.

But can I just tell you that before I read the whole garbage chute one I thought it was going to say this:

“Chute from the kitchen to the garage. So that after he opens the garage door and his chips are warm, they just come down the chute right into the garage and he can eat them before even going into the house!” (Then I realized it was for garbage. Might be gross. Sorry.)

:) Hilarious… I’d want a garbage chute too because we have to walk a block to our dumpster… which… SUCKS!!!!

I think The King should maybe look into construction as a profession! Funny! Love the garbage chute idea and ohhhh how I long for a hot tub!

OMG, that’s funny!!! The garbage chute sounds great!! I’ve always wanted one of those hot (boiling) water spouts for tea :)

A garbage chute would be great, but what I really want in our next house is a laundry room on the same floor as the bedroom. I hate carrying laundry up and down stairs… Or maybe I’d like a dumbwaiter… Oh yeah, and my husband really craves the warm chips too.

Don’t be alarmed, but I think the King and I (ooh, unintentional pun!) may be twins seperated at birth.

I had no idea garage door openers could do that! I need to get my cable back, stat.

While I’ve never tried it, I’ve gotta think mowing nude would be dangerous. One rogue rock and hello pain! Once you look at enough houses you get excited if they have four walls and a roof.

Your King sounds like he is as much of a techno-junkie as mine. Gotta love ‘em.

Those are really cool ideas. I’m with Chris. That nude mowing could get a bit scarey.

I can’t wait to hear all about the house when you guys move in. I hope you post pics. I can’t wait to see all of your cool ideas.
