Late night, early morning? Who can be sure anymore?
Posted by Isabel on April 24th, 2006. Filed under: My Sweet Babboo, They're just my family.My Mom went home Sunday morning. It broke my heart. Say what I will about my Mom, I love the women. Maybe even more now that I understand what she did to bring me into this world. It broke my heart to tell her to go ahead and fly home and not change her plane ticket for next weekend. I had to tell her that we really didn’t need her help anymore. I cried. She cried. But the truth was that The King and I are handling things just fine.
Plus she’s coming back in June for a week, with my Dad and little sister. That makes my heart feel a little better. Phew.
So far I have only.changed.two.diapers. That’s right, Internet. Two. That means The King has changed all of the others. It also means that he is officially The Best Husband/Dad in the World. And I love him even more for it.
It was a beautiful day today here in Seattle. Which means the sun was actually out. Hard to believe, I know. We took the opportunity to put The Baby in the stroller and take a little stroll downtown. I seriously expected people to just come up to us and tell us how beautiful our baby is and how impressed they are that I was up and walking (and even had lipstick on). Not one person came up to us. And really, I was surprised.
Apparently I think the world revolves around our little family.
(And I’m still a little upset at Katie Holmes for stealing my thunder. And really appalled at Tom for doing an interview with Entertainment Tonight three days after his baby was born. Shouldn’t he be home with his lady and new baby? And not in some studio talking about how awesome he is? I mean, really?!)
(and why won’t spell check work at this time of the morning? That should be against the law…since I’m not awake enough to spell check it myself!)

Sounds like things are going well. I am glad your mom is coming back soon, and sounds like the King can handle things in the meantime. You can just sit back and relax
Can you believe you have had him almost a week now? I guess it’s just weird for us internet people since we didn’t really get the word until Friday!

Well, even if people on the streets aren’t saying he’s precious, he really is! Just adorable! I’m glad to hear your new little family is doing well!
And I totally agree with you about Tom Cruise. I definitely wouldn’t be happy about that if I was Katie Holmes… And how dare they rain on your parade!

I’m surprised too. Most people take any little opportunity to talk to a new mom about her baby and how soon she’s gotten out of the house.
I predict that soon you will be tired of the comments from strangers.

Tom Cruise isn’t at home with his lady and his baby because there IS NO BABY!! Just a pillow, perhaps, but no baby.

Glad to hear all is well. We call the first week home with baby, “Hazing week”. Cause that’s how it felt for us.
You are absolutely right though… .He IS the most beautiful baby!

I think that in the Cruise-Holmes household they are upset that you had a baby on the same day as them. I’m sure they are telling themselves that you had some nerve!!!
I’m with Jessica, If I saw you in the street I would gush over the little King and be absolutly amazed that you were out for a stroll downtown.

I expected the same thing when we went to Target after the baby was born.
How are you feeling? Are you healing OK? Getting much sleep?
I cried when my mom left too… but she lives 45 minutes away so I felt kind of silly about the crying.

My heart broke when you talked about your mom leaving. My mom actually took off work to stay with me this week. I really don’t ‘need’ her but the company is nice. Hope all is well! Thinking of you and your new baby boy.

Wow, the King is awesome! Bill wouldn’t change any of the diapers in the begining because he couldn’t deal with looking at Logan’s healing circ. I thought that was pretty lame. You sure have a great Daddy over there!

Wow I am super impressed with the King. May my husband do at least half as well *looks up to the heavens, silently pleading*. Ha ha

My mom stayed with us for a while after the baby and when she went home I cried my eyes out. For hours.
Ummm, yeah, she lives a block away. Pathetic. I know.
