Can I get a rah-rah?July 24th, 2006 @ 7:01 am
I’ve been trying to post this post all morning. I didn’t have a lot of time to do it, so I was trying to be fast.
And then Wordpress kept eating my post. And the post was was originally “I need to hurry and get working” became “I’m only going to spend ONE MORE HOUR trying to get this to work and then I’ll get some work done!”
I think the problem was trying to post pictures. So instead of pictures today, you’ll get links to pictures. Ohhh…that sounds fun. Right?
It’s all about mixing things up here at hola, isabel.
So The King knows a guy who is a team mascot for a living. This guy dresses up in big furry costumes and hypes up the crowd.
We passed someone on the street this weekend that looked like this friend of his. It wasn’t him, but it got us talking about him.
The King: He’s such a small guy.
Isabel: He has to be tiny to do the tricks that mascots do. I mean, he has to jump off a trampoline and make a basket during the half time show. That takes a small person with agility.
The King: But have you ever been on one of those costumes? They’re hot inside!!
Isabel: You’re asking me if I’ve ever worn a mascot costume?! When and why would I have ever worn a mascot costume? (thinks for a second) Why, have you?
The King: I’ve worn one once.
Isabel: You have?! I don’t think I even want to know the story behind that one.
(see picture of the new house here)
In other non costume related news, the new house is really coming along nicely. Framing continues even though its like one million degrees outside. I feel terrible that the framers are working in this heat. They drink Red Bull all day long. I guess that (and the 10 cans of chew) keep them going.
And in other non house, non costume related news; someone found his toes this weekend. Babboo kept trying to get them into his mouth. Good thing he wasn’t able to since his feet were all stinky and sweaty from being so hot this weekend.
We’re surviving the heat out here. Sort of surviving it. I came into work today merely for the AC.
The question is, are you guys surviving the heat? Because I know it’s hotter for you guys than for us!

Babboo is unbelievably perfect. I hope we never meet in person, because you might find yourself missing a son
So, why in the world was the King ever in a mascot costume? I have a feeling there is a great story to that comment.

And you know I’VE totally been in a mascot costume (OCB!)…I love that stuff - even though it is hot as hell. The house is looking good and so is the adorable child! I need one of those seats. (No, I don’t have any children…)

Babboo looks like a person…more like a person…ahh what I’m trying to say is he’s growing up so fast…he looks less like a baby coz he’s sitting up and bending to touch his toes!!! OMGooosh why does this freakily feel like my “happy mum” moment??? it’s not even my kid. But, I think he’s so cute and i love seeing him!!
anyways, the house is lookin good. I bet u’ll be having Christmas there! *fingers crossed*.
Heat? It’s winter here. it’s cold (about 10 degrees C) and windy. I hate the cold. I love early autumn. I think u call is ‘fall’. Yucky cold. I miss Sri Lanka.

Ok so all of last week it ranged from 100-104 degrees. This week it seems to be giving us a break and only getting into the mid 90’s or so… then next week it’s supposed to go back to the hundreds again. It makes me wanna cry… but then my smart ass is going to Las Vegas to get married the first weekend in August and I don’t even want to think how hot it will be then…

You know me and the Elmo suit story….I had to do it because I was the only one short enough!
The house is coming along very nicely! I can’t wait to watch the progress.
Babboo is sooooo cute!! He’s such a little man

We went to the Celebrity Mascot Games to benefit New Hope for Kids in Orlando a couple weeks ago. Jess loved it. I wish I had gotten a bumbo seat for my kids. They look awesome!

How do people survive who have to live with this heat all the time? I’m so weak. I survived the Seattle heatwave by lying on the tile floor with the fan blowing directly at my face, and I draped a wet towel over my cat. She loved it.
Baboo is so big!

Oh my, the baby looks just like you do. Very cute!
And no, I am not surviving the heat. By noon, I am soo sweaty and disgusting and can’t even think straight… I want A/C in my office NOW (and once I actually have time off in August, I am sure the weather will be horrible!).

It is very hot here. But in a strange twist of irony, our house was so cold last night (my husband likes it COLD) I was in socks and a sweater and long pants. Yes, it was that cold and I felt that stupid. LOL. PS Baboo is gorgeous.

Babboo is getting so big. I can’t believe he is already finding his toes. The house looks like it is coming along great! You may just get your Christmas deadline.

You probably hear it all the time, but Babboo looks so much like you!
I guess the entire country is experiencing a heatwave. It’s business as usual here, low to mid 90s, but that’s better than Southern Cal and FL, so I’m not complaining.

Don’t worry, sweet baboo will be putting those dirty sweaty little feet in his mouth all the frickin’ time soon!
We are survuving this heat wave by swimming in glacier fed lakes all day. When we can’t get to the lake we sit in our dinky inflated pool in the back yard. Lily loves both the cold lake and the pool. Tomorrow I am going to get her an inflatable toy that she can sit in for the pool. Bring on the heat, we got toys to play with!

The heat has been brutal here! The past week it’s been about 103.
I just wrote a post a few days ago about the summer and how it’s too hot to do anything. I just want to lay in front of my A/C and not do anything else.

Babboo and Silly boy have the same Bumbo seat. Is that not the coolest thing ever?
The King is right, it’s HOT in those things. I think it would be so fun to be Griz (the mascot of my b-ball team the Memphis Grizzlies). So fun!
Okay, so here it is…I don’t think you were reading me when I blogged about being a chicken. (stop laughing)

Oh, I like the links. There’s more to look at. The baby looks so cute! I can’t believe how quickly he’s growing. Sorry for my lack of comments. I usually read all your entries, but haven’t been commenting much lately.
