[...] I like my job. I do. I really do. I work with cool people. I’m working on an interesting project right now. I’m learning new things. I just got a (tiny) raise. My commute rocks. (Does a 5 minute walk count as a “commute”?) But still, it’s hard. It’s hard to be away from home all day. It’s hard to only have a few hours with my Sweet Babboo each night. It’s even harder to only see The King for maybe an hour a day. Maybe. [...]

[...] How did my review go yesterday, you ask? No thanks to my skirt, it went just fine. I did make sure to put my glasses on before I went in. Mostly because I’ve heard there are actual studies proving that you seem smarter when wearing glasses. Dude, I’ll take any help I can get. [...]

Living in the UK, I tend to read your entries one day late. Thus, being Friday, I read this entry as the King Friday contribution. I thought wearing a skirt to work for his annual review was a questionable move...

I've never been to a review before! (gulps)

Although I'm not looking forward to it - I'm hoping yours went well, I'm sure it will! Perfect 10's, all the way.

I'm not sure that anything is as hard as our reviews. We have three questions -- what are we doing well, what are we sucking at and what can we improve on. It's bad enough that we have to fill those out ourselves, but to top it off we have to torture three of our coworkers with filling one out too!

In a way, you want to pick coworkers you like because they'll probably give you a good review. But you also feel bad breaking the news to someone you like that they are stuck filling out your dumb review form.

So anyway, good luck or um, hope it went well.
