Don’t forget to write down where you parked the car
Posted by Isabel on February 7th, 2007. Filed under: The King. The King drove himself to the hospital this morning. I’ll be taking the bus to pick him up in a few hours. You know, during my lunch break. I’m a good wife like that.
Why is The King at the hospital, you ask?
He’s having surgery.
Yes, I made my husband drive himself in for his own surgery. But only after I made him drop the baby off at school.
I also told him to make sure to write down where he parked the car so that I’ll be sure to find it when I go to take him home. Can you just picture me carrying my drugged up husband around the hospital looking for our car? Or better yet, pushing him in a wheelchair.
I’m making this sound so dramatic for…dramatic purposes. The surgery is really no big deal. The poor guy has this repellent growth inside his mouth. He’s had it for a few months. It doesn’t hurt or anything. It’s just nauseating to look at. It will go away for a few days, but then come back with a vengeance, all filled with puss and other sickening fluids.
He went to see the doctor, who wasn’t concerned about it at all. He did suggest that The King get it removed. Which, hello, good suggestion. Since The King’s at a new job, we decided to take advantage of his new insurance and go ahead with the surgery.
And also because the growth is seriously repellent.
The plan is for The King to come home, sleep off the drugs on the couch, eat (since he hasn’t been able to eat since last night), and just have some peace and quiet while Babboo and I are at school and work respectively. I hope the plan goes well and he feels well enough to go to work tomorrow and to work over at the new house.
Because, let’s be honest, I’m sick of our one bedroom apartment and am ready for this house to be done.
Really, I just want The King to feel better and not have to worry about this crazy growth anymore.
Plus, I don’t want to have to look at it either.

I hope the surgery goes well! No matter how not-serious, surgery is never fun, but from the way you describe the growth, it sounds like it’s definitely time to have it taken out. Ew! I’d make my husband do the same thing.

Blech, that does sound yucky. I hope everything goes fine and he is resting comfortably.

If only we could have pictures of the growth, that would make this so much more appetizing!

Sounds like a practical plan to me. In fact, writing down where the car is parked should be required all the time… I can’t even tell you how many times I go to drive somewhere and then realize I have NO IDEA where my car is. Or, worse, I’ll think it’s one place, but in reality I’ve moved it. So I’ll be standing there on the sidewalk, looking around all confused, wondering who stole my P.O.S jetta? Why would you steal a car with 137,000 miles on it? Should I call the police? How am I going to get to the grocery store now? And then it will hit me… oh, yea. I moved it. Whoops.
Hope the king is feeling all better and totally non-repellant soon.
PS- Please tell me who Claire’s real dad is. I still haven’t had time to watch and I NEED TO KNOW.

The word puss make me throw up in my mouth a little so I’m glad he got it removed. Hope he’s feeling okay. I was going to ask you why you were going to the hospital (saw it on gmail) but I figured you would blog about it. Plus, once I got around to asking, you were gone.
Good luck finding the car.

And certainly kissing has been out for a while, right? RIGHT?
I can’t image ….
seriously, hope all goes well and (relatively) pain free.
and your house is done soon so I can visit.

The description alone is nauseating; I thank you for not posting pictures.
Also, I’ve scribbled down “A3″ or “C6″ onto a piece of scrap paper many, many times!

All I can say is ewwwww!

Poor King. Hopefully it will be better for him and you once it’s gone. Hopefully his recovery is speedy.

Heal quick, King. (All hail the King!)
Isabel, you crack me up. :0)

That growth does not sound sexy, nope, not sexy at all. I do hope that the king is feeling better though!!

I can’t believe you didn’t post pictures!
Just kidding.
I hope he recovers quickly. My mom had what sounds like a similar growth and had to have it removed. It was on her tongue and she couldn’t talk for a while.

Sounds incredibly disgusting. Does cold stuff help the recovery process? If it does, maybe you can grab yourself…I mean him… a tasty DQ treat.

OMGoosh I’m sorry about all this. Hope the King recovers fast.

Ewww. I hope he has a speedy recovery so he can get to wotk on your house. I’m sure it is pretty cramped in the one bedroom with Baboo.

Oh man, that sounds awful. For both of you. Hope he’s back to normal soon!

What!?! No pictures of this disgusting mouth growth?
Maybe we should be thanking you for that.
I hope you found the car!

I hope everything went well!
