My teenage years were spent making out, but where?March 5th, 2007 @ 7:01 am
Since The King and I were a little early to Sunday dinner at his folk’s house, and since Babboo was fast asleep in his car seat, we decided to drive around the area that The King grew up in. We ended up in a new housing development. There were huge houses all around, houses that weren’t there when The King was in high school. Back then it was just an old army base, or something. He told me that he used to go there and make out with his girlfriend. He said they were always going to weird places to make out. He said she even liked making out in the high school parking lot. During school hours.
He told me how one day they were out in his car, door open, and his legs hanging out. She was all over him. School got out and kids started going out to their cars to go home. And there was The King and his lady-friend, making out at 2:30 in the afternoon. He was so embarrassed. (But not embarrassed enough to stop what they were doing.)
I started to think about all the random places that I had made out at.
I’m sure I had made out in my high school parking lot. Or in an abandoned field. Or at the movies.
But I couldn’t remember.
I sat in the car while we were driving around just trying to remember any random make out from back in the day. I know I was making out. But, for the love of all things teenage angst, where?!
Did I make out at my house? Sure, I must have. Did I make out my boyfriends house? Totally. Right? Did I steal a kiss or two during a movie? You bet. I think. So why can’t I remember specifics?
The only inside car-empty parking lot-random make out that I remember was with a guy I worked with right before I met The King. I was a full on adult at that point, so it doesn’t really count. And there might have been a time in college that I made out in the middle of a baseball field. But I can’t be sure.
During our drive yesterday I shared this all with The King. He just rolled his eyes at me like he often does. Then we pulled into the parking lot for the model home and totally made out. But only for a minute. We didn’t want to wake up the kid.
So tell me, do you remember making out at any random places? And if so, let’s hear about it.

Oh my gosh, once I had a steady boyfriend (Nick, The One Who Went For Three Weeks Without Calling), we made out everywhere. His bedroom. My front porch. My back porch. Both neighborhood parks. In an abandoned field on a ripped-up mattress behind the train station (yes, ew, but when you’re a horny teenager you have no shame), and my personal favorite, the alley behind my parents’ apartment. Which is totally where we got caught my father. Good times.

my husband (my boyfriend back then) and i used to go to a development that was under construction so it was dark and desolate at 8:00 on a sunday night and make out in the back of his mom’s jeep. those were the days!

Lol, I don’t know if it’s really all that random, but when I was about 16 or so, I made out with this guy I was dating in the parking lot of the grocery store we both worked at (for like 2 hours and got in soooo much trouble with the parents).
Also, my hubby and I once went and parked on this street in a new subdivision that was being built, the road wasn’t even paved yet, lol.

Heeheehee. What a great question for a Monday morning.
My favorite high school boyfriend (yeah, boyfriend) (well, most of them were with a boyfriend; I had a little bit of a hussy phase) makeout places were:
* A church parking lot on Friday/Saturday nights (my trusting parents had a VW camper which I drove on dates!),
* My basement, where we snuck after I got home from being allowed to go to the Rocky Horror Picture Show and get back in at 2:30 am,
* This random tiny little park where I thought we were hidden from view but years later realized that was SO not true,
* Once, up in the branches of a tree in a park, and
* The best first-date-makeout-session of my youth, in the enclosed area at the top of a slide at a playground on a gray and coldish day before either of us had our driver’s licenses.

I once got caught making out under a table at a restaurant at a party. Other than that….usual places. Car, movies, ballgames, airplanes, weddings, bars, clubs, houses, bathrooms, hotels, parks, parking lots, closets, school etc….

One time while Cody and I were dating (he had just come home from his two-year extravaganza in Columbia, SC) we went up in the mountains and we made out on a blanket by the river. We thought we were alone, but then we heard voices so we jumped apart panicking and saw Asian tourists taking our picture. There was a nature trail on the other side of the river. Oops!
And then there was the time Cody walked me home from our YW/YM activity, and we were making out on the side of the house when the YM President came looking for Cody and caught us. They kept a close eye on us all the time after that.

I used to kinda date this goth guy that none of my friends approved of. So I would go pick him up and we would park in one of the parking lots on Riverside and just make out for hours and steam up the windows. There may have even been some “heavy petting”. The memories are fuzzy.
Then there’s that one guy that I told you about the other day who we won’t mention here… not because I want to protect him, but because I don’t want the holy grail of bloggers to somehow find out and banish me from the internets.
I didn’t get to do a whole lot of making out in my high school days as I was terribly afflicted with The Shy and The Ugly and The Wallflower.

I have definitely made out in the woods. That sounds so disgusting. But that’s what you get when you come from NJ.
Movies — yes
On the couch in my mom’s living room — yes
In the car — yes (although I never liked that, I was always too afraid of getting “caught”)
In the lifeguard shack where I used to work as a lifeguard — yes
And I’m sure there are a lot of other random places that I can no longer remember!

You are really testing my memory here!
The ones that come to mind (with a struggle at that) would be my parents basement, boyfriends house, the car, a local park close to where I lived, the woods…..I can probably come up with more, but that’s all I can remember!
Man, I’m getting old!

All my make-out sessions were with my now-husband….and we were always in the car, but never in the same place…Parking lots yes (like some other people I see)…
But! One that hasn’t been mentioned, I think, is: storage unit lots….My husband thought they were like the best “hiding spot” at night….Who’s going to drive to unpack a storage place at night? No one!

oh my I used to make out a lot. Of course our parents’ houses when they weren’t around. Cars. Empty hallways or gyms in the high school. Movie theatres. Probably some parks. I better stop now before you start thinking I was a make out hussy or something!

I guess I’m pretty boring and don’t have any really cool make out stories.
The closest I can think of was just about 2 and a half years ago, when Shaun wanted to stop by my work to see me for one of my breaks, since he was in the area because he had to drive out by here to one of the job sites. We hopped in the backseat of my car, (with Zachary’s car seat, mind you) and sorta made out. Not really though. It was more to just see if we could both fit in the backseat of my car because we’re dorks.

Ahhh that is so sweet that you two made out. I’d have to sit down and think long and hard considering school was sooo long ago. Yikes. Do I wanna go there? I’m not so sure.

I didn’t just make-out, but did the dead on the hood of my ‘68 Mustang in Arctic Circle’s parking lot, while they were open. It was dark though, I guess that was a good thing. I was a bad, bad girl after I met my husband!!!

these are places of actual penetration… not just making out. (I sound so slutty, but these are with my husband so that makes it romantic or something, right?)
at night, in the front yard, in the snow (remember: snow is reflective, so it was no where near dark)
parking lot of Kroger (during broad daylight)
elevators (in crowded hotels)
auditorium in the University where my husband is employed (during a work day when anyone could have walked in)
those are the really weird places

This is so much fun to try and remember! The only ones that come to mind for me are in the middle of a baseball field one night with my high school boyfriend, in a classroom at college, and then again in a classroom at grad school with the man that would eventually be my husband.
I’m sure there have been others, but those are the first ones I think of!

Hah. Jason was the first guy I ever actually MADE out wtih .. in cars, etc. We used to drive around and park in random spots - reserves, outside dark houses, in new housing areas where there was no-one around. We were weird. But bless, I still love him!

Hmmm, let’s see. In high school, I made out at:
my boyfriend’s house
my house (shhhh; don’t tell my parents)
in a car (multiple cars, actually)
on the football field (NOT kidding)
on the track bus
And I think I possibly even made out on the dance floor at prom, but how many kinds of wrong is that?!
(Also, we are getting old, because I’m having a hard time remembering any specifics!)

Reading your comments section on this one was fun! I’m glad I arrived late. As for where I’ve made out? I just don’t think I can go there at present. Haha

reading your post really has me thinking and I am drawing blanks too…. lets think back to HS…
of course our parents house and other friends parents houses. Limp’s after dances, a sauna in Mammoth, the car behind my friends parents resturant, school hallway after school, the beach.. I am sure there are a few others, but all I can think of and that took me a while to think up.

Oh, you crack me up. Since Mr. Flinger is the person I made out with in high school (I know I know, how pathetic) he quickly reminds me it was almost an empty church parking lot. I’m fairly certain that clinches my ticket to hell. *sigh*

Oooh! Now here’s a topic that I can really ‘warm to’ - ha ha…ok, a few places I can recall:
-Treehouse where I was babysitting (kids were asleep)
-Couch/living room, see above
-On a paddleboard, mid-ocean (v. romantic, actually)
-Beach, private
-Beach, public
-Grove of trees, private
-near train tracks, not as private as we’d hoped …oops!
-City courthouse, sunset (people get married there all the time, its very pretty)
-various clubs
-locations at high school, secluded
-green room of junior high, just before going onstage
(cured my stage fright!)
-dressing room at Nordy’s
-cars, various & sundry
-parks, private…ish
-parents’ house
-boyfriends parents’ house
-friends’ parents house, etc etc
Well….you get the picture, right? I’m amazed I stayed, erm, pure till 18. Hee hee!

[...] I did remember the name of the boy that was 2 years younger then me and lived across the street from my best friend Marci. He and I used to make out all the time, even though we never talked to each other at school. (He was a sophomore and I was a senior. It was against high school code to speak to each other.) [...]

Sheesh!
Not sure what Americans mean by “making out”, but my girlfriend and I have made use of weeping willow tree boughs (our first two “encounters” ever), and numerous car parks.

[...] Recently The King and I spoke to a group of over 100 teenagers. This was very daunting. The topic we were given? Our own teenage years and how they made us into the (cough) fine (cough) adults we are now. The highlight of the night was hearing The King tell a 17 year old audience member that his black eye would help attract the ladies. And also when he showed off his skull and cross bone socks. The King likes to keep it real. Me, on the other hand, well I just didn’t tell the whole truth about my teenage years. [...]

[...] When I was in high school my parents decreed that I could not have a job. They wanted me to focus on my studies, and we all know that having a after school job hinders your studies. (Actually, decreeing that I not have a boyfriend might have been a better way to keep me focused on school.) My boyfriend also agreed with this rule. He had a job and liked that I was available for him when he got off work. [...]
