King Friday – Now with talk about underwear at work

Posted by Isabel on March 9th, 2007. Filed under: The King, Work.

I have a new office. Okay, its not an office, its a cubicle. The company I work for moved this past week, and we are in a brand spanking new space, new office furniture and all. Its all decked out with Herman Miller cubicles, and looks very clean and “Logan’s Run” -ish. The desks are all white and the dividers are screens. My space is about the size of a box of girl scout cookies. You think that last line is a complaint? Nope. The office we moved from was even smaller. I was sharing a space that was about the size of a box of girl scout cookies and two packs of cigarettes, with 3 other people, one of which was a 22 year old recent college grad that insisted on telling us whether or not he was wearing any underwear. It was literally a storage area that they managed to clean off a few desks and stuff us into. I was reaching my breaking point, and I had only been there for a month or so. Anyway, I’m happy at work. Work will always be work, and there will always be problems and stuff, but finally, I feel like I’m working somewhere that I look forward to every morning.

    Woot!

What will you do without the daily underpants update?

What will he do, circulate a memo?

How does that even come up in a conversation at work? I am very curious!

Girl scout cookies, mmmmm. I have a box of Thin Mints in my freezer. I love to eat them cold!

Liking what you do and where you work is such an important thing. Great to hear work is better and you’re liking it. :-)

Ahhh, extra space. Isn’t it wonderful? And to not have to share a cubicle with someone who wears no underpants. What a relief.
