In which we have friends over for dinner and try to use our camera timer. But not at the same time. Thankfully.

Isabel: Yeah, they seem cool.
The King: Although I do have to admit that it was super odd seeing the wife wearing jeans. Every other time I’ve seen her she’s been wearing a dress.
Isabel: Um, that’s because you’ve only ever seen her at church! Where all the women are always wearing dresses! Dork.
The King: Oh, right. I forgot about that.
In honor of my awesome husband, may I present you with the family portrait we took this weekend in our Canadian hotel room with our camera’s timer.
And this is the best one in the bunch.
We suck.
(Seriously, why can’t we ever figure out our timer?)

The King’s comment reminds me of (and I know I’ve probably told you this before, but it makes me laugh so I’m telling you again) when my mom saw our swimming teacher at the grocery store and said (very loudly), “Hi Barbara!!! I didn’t recognize you with your clothes on!!!”
We also suck at the timer. We average 1/30 good pictures….

I have a Mormon question. I asked one of my girlfriends (a Mormon, obv) and she said women HAVE to wear skirts or dresses to church. The reason this came up, was, she had invited me to church. I wanted to wear a nice pants suit. She put the kabosh on that. Some of my other girlfriends (Mormons, obv) said it is not a concrete requirement, but more of an unspoken rule. They also said I could’ve worn the pants suit but would’ve looked really out of place. They didn’t suggest that route for me since I have social anxiety and don’t like to draw attention to myself.
So, is it a rule, an unspoken rule, or simply preference that women do not wear pants.
You know I go to a non-denominational church. The pastor preaches in flip flops. We will wear jeans but we always dress modestly. Some chicks were the most inappropriate clothes! I think people SHOULD dress a little nicer for church to show respect. In our church mission statement it specifically says to stop worrying about what others are wearing and doing, and to focus on your own self, as God is the only judge. Thus, I have refrained from mentioning to anyone that their tube dress is inappropriate. :/

I’m horrible at recognizing people out of context, so I am impressed that he recognized her (although it was at your house and you had invited them. It’s not like you were going to see a movie and ran into them. I. Am. Also. A. Dork.)
I wish my hair had the shine and bounce Baboo’s hair appears to have in your picture.

I *LOVE* Babboo’s t-shirt. Next time he and I are together, we must coordinate.
(also, a family picture without Darby, the blind snake? PFFFTT!!)
