In which I close out the week with bullets
Posted by Isabel on February 27th, 2009. Filed under: Bullet points are your friend, My Sweet Babboo, Random, Vacations. In an effort to get ourselves to Disneyland this weekend, this week has been all about making lists. And more lists. And so, in honor of my list newly acquired list making skills, I present you with one more list!
- This weekend’s trip is short. We’re leaving tonight after work and coming home by noon on Sunday.
- So yeah, just the one day inside Disneyland.
- While we don’t have any plans to be anywhere near a swimming pool or a beach, I felt the need to wax and pack my swimming suit for this trip.
- Apparently I just feel the need to be all cleaned up for Mickey.
- Babboo watched “Toy Story” this week. So, hopefully, he’ll recognize Woody and Buzz at Disneyland.
- Babboo keeps asking me about the “High School Musical” ride. He won’t believe me that Disneyland doesn’t have one.
- I still have the bangs. And I love how they look. But damn, they take a lot of work to keep them properly swooped to the right.
- While I told my direct supervisor I was knocked-up, I have yet to tell anyone else at work.
- That means I’m still tying to hide my pregnant belly.
- I’m very sick of wearing jackets and scarves everyday. I feel like a sitcom actress trying to hide her pregnancy on the show. You know, always carrying papers or a big purse when I’m standing up talking to someone.
- A lady in line in front of me at the drug store this morning dropped a bottle of bright red nail polish.
- Naturally it broke open and polish went flying everywhere.
- I don’t think any got on my new pants (that I just cut the tags off this morning).
- The woman didn’t even tell anyone she dropped it. She just stepped over it and kept on doing what she was doing.
- I was pissed. But, clearly, I’m over it.
- The Space Needle is currently running a sale on their annual passes. They are marked down to $30 (from $119). This is a KILLER deal, since it’s $16 to go up the thing one time.
- And you get to take someone up with you each time you go.
- Naturally we bought (one) annual pass.
- I’m really looking forward to using it this summer. You know, if summer ever comes to Seattle.
- Please let summer come soon.
- Did I mention it’s going to be 78 degrees at Disneyland tomorrow? That’s what the internet told me. And I’m giddy.
- My best friend May (who lives in Reno) is in Utah this weekend to visit family. While she’s there she’s going to meet up with Britt and Becky, who she’s knows through me and the Super Duper Blogger Book Exchange. I’m jealous I’m not there. Hooray for blogger (and non blogger) meet ups.
- Babboo and I attended a “High School Musical III” video release party at a friend’s house this week. (Did I forget to tell the interweb that my child is obsessed with HSM and all things related to basketball?) My friend had a costume for him and everything. Check it out:

Here Babboo plays “Troy“, the caption of the East High basketball team and star of his high school musical. “Umbrella” (as she is referred to at our house) is being played by his little friend. She’s in full costume and wig, so I didn’t feel the need to black her eyes out. (They are singing along to all the songs. And yes, he knows most of them.)
Of all the pictures of Babboo I’ve posted online over the years, I’m pretty sure this is the one he’ll hate the most. But, darn it, I just love it so much.
So tell me, if we were to only buy one souvenir at Disneyland for Babboo, what should it be?
(I’m leaning towards the traditional Mickey ears, or a silhouette picture. But maybe we could go with something more modern like a Woody doll.)

I wish you were coming for longer!! You could stay for free with us. It is sooo expensive here! Be glad you are only staying for one day!! For California, the weather is very cool right now-the internets may be lying. They said it might rain. Bring a sweater and such (not that you need packing tips having traveled the world and whatnot!) At the very least we could’ve taken you guys to dinner or something. We just got Disneyland passes. Guess how much they were? $300 FREAKING DOLLARS!! EACH! They were gifts, naturally. Good luck with Disney this weekend. Too bad you didn’t get in yesterdya or you could’ve gone to cake decorating, LOL. Have a fun, safe trip!!
P.S. Why the delay in announcing the pending arrival of Babboo’s sister? *Wink* My money is on girl, for wahtever reason….

I LOVE that picture – I also love HSM, so, you know, I’m not really very unbiased.

ISABEL. OMG. I am so jealous that Babboo knows all the HSM songs. That is totally beyond adorable. I heart Troy! and “Umbrella”? swoon. Where did he see the movie??

Don’t ever invite me to the Space Needle. Last time I was there I threw up IN FRONT OF ALL THE TOURISTS. I would hate to embarrass you like that.

I’m jealous of your trip to warmer climates, even if it is one day. I am loving the pic of Babboo in HSM. Maddy and I went on opening night, it was soooo fun. Yes, I’m a dork.
Have fun! I vote Mickey ears.

I vote Mickey ears
Oh man, Babboo is too awesome. Allison was 3 when HSM came out, nothing beats a 3 year old singing, “It could be the start. of something new.”, with all of their heart and soul.

My mom had a silhouette done for me at Disneyland when I was a wee one. And I LOVE it. Still. I want my mom to give it to me.
Ooh and I got a Space Needle pass too!

He stands just like Troy! He’s totally going to be discovered during your one day at Disney and become the next HSM star.

That is the cutest darn picture EVER! He’s holding the mic like a pro!

Wait, Babboo has seen HSM but he has JUST seen Toy Story? That makes no sense.

Have a great time!

I love you for knowing & loving May and Britt. They are every bit as awesome in person as on paper & blogs. It was a great old reunion of new/old friends. I wish wish you could have been there.
Is is strange to be paranoid that people will like your online self more than the real one? A strange dynamic all around, the knowing-on-line first deal.
Hope Disneyland was awesome. And I hope you got to see the beach.

[...] Right. Because most adults really aren’t familiar with HSM like we are at our house. [...]
