In which I eat crepes for every meal
Posted by Isabel on March 10th, 2009. Filed under: They're just my friends. My bestest friend May came out to Seattle for a visit a few weeks ago. She lives in Reno, which is basically as far away as Asia. I don’t get to see her as often as I’d like. Clearly.
(How often would I like to see May? Every Tuesday. And Friday. Yep, that would be a good start.)
May brought her daughter Littlest May with her. Littlest May was conceived while they lived in Seattle, but born once they moved to Reno. I don’t really know Littlest May and it makes me sad.
After the way Littlest May treated my house during their stay, I’m okay not seeing her more often.

I kid. Littlest May was a dream boat.
That’s my kid in the green shirt jumping up and down on our bathroom doors. Way to treat the new house with respect, yo!
(Babboo calls the stack of bathroom doors his “stage” and he uses it thus.)
I decided to throw May a brunch while she was in town and invite our closest friends. Somehow the guest lits exceeded twelve. (Dude, that’s a lot of people to fit into my house.) I planned on making authentic French crepes with eggs and ham and cheese and Nutella. (Not mixed all together, of course.) We had juice and fruit and hash browns and candy and basically, just a good time.

Oh yeah, I also made lemon cupcakes. Which Littest May and Vesper enjoyed.

(I too enjoyed them. The baby loved all things flour and sugar and frosted.)

May and I vowed to craft and shop and hem pants and hang out during her short visit. I think we got the “hanging out” part down, but we missed the crafting part and the shopping part and the hemming of pants part. In fact, I’m not sure we even left the house while she was here.

May had to bug out early after the brunch, so she left me with all the clean up. Okay, that’s a lie. Everyone helped to clean up. And, guess what time the last brunch guest left at?!
EIGHT O’CLOCK at night!
For reals. My friend Anne stayed so long we ended up making more crepes and having them for dinner.
It was awesome.

Oh, Nutella. I could devour an entire jar with nothing more than a spoon, an hour, and some Tums. How nice of you to throw May a brunch, what fun!

How nice of you to throw a brunch, indeed. Seriously, above & beyond.
But next time lets lock all the kids in Baboo’s room so that we can have fun without them. Suck it Seagulls!
