[...] Anyway, the front yard is done. And it looks lovely. I can say this because I had nothing to do with it. I had no vision. I planted no plants. All that I’ve done is stain the fence and do some weeding. Oh, I mowed the grass once last week. (It took less then 3 minutes, since you know; we have the smallest lawn ever.) [...]

That's what parks are for. Let someone else mow the grass.

I love your small yard, but it's probably because I'm a city person too. I love, love, love the city and I love to be as close as possible. Downtown SLC is one of my favorite places. I wish I could have seen more of downtown Seattle while I was there, not to mention your house! I was super bummed. :(

BUT! We might be coming back up your way soon..... ;)

It's rather more common in Britain to have either a very small or no front yard - I was lucky enough to grow up in a house with a front and back garden but I know many people who live without them, especially those who live in old terraced houses... even in small towns and some villages you can't always guarantee much of a garden, Britain just isn't big enough lol

I once lived in a townhouse with a front yard that was exactly big enough to house four pansies. It was so small that a toddler could hop over it. We always theorized that it was so small because the contractors figured out they could save a bunch of money by not paving those little areas. The sod looks nice!
