I’m so relieved to read that you both feel ok with this — that your immediate reactions were ones of peace and calmness. I’m sorry I didn’t read this and react closer to when it happened. I got laid off lately too. I’m impressed with you two and your calmness. I’m also impressed that you can get by for a year and a half… I have not been smart with my money and I couldn’t afford a week and a half, so…

I think the fact that you two have such confidence about it is a sign that good things will happen. So good luck! And you’re right, it’s likely a blessing in disguise, with bigger and better just around the corner.

My husband got laid off a few months back. His boss called him in on his day off to “help out with some projects.” He got to work, and they laid him off. Lame. He got hired back by the same company, at a new location, for more money 3 weeks later. Here’s hoping you have similar luck!

Having gone through the experience of my husband being laid off I can only be impressed with your attitudes. I hope it does bring something better his way!

Coincidentally, my husband was laid off on his cell phone while driving through that ugly part of Idaho, too. Only he was on his way to a funeral. I have to shake my head sometimes at the incompetence of HR people!
