Hola, I’m Isabel. I reside with The King and our little guy, my Sweet Babboo. We live in a one bedroom apartment in downtown Seattle while we build our new house in Seattle.

I’m addicted to Rhett Miller, the Old 97’s, moist lips, high heels, and soda pop. Possibly in that order.

Mostly I’m a dork. But I like to pretend I’m not. Please pretend with me.

You can e-mail me at: holaisabel [at] gmail dot com

100 Things About Isabel

(written 8/2/07)

  1. I like pizza and candy.
  2. I could eat pizza for every meal.
  3. A few years ago my New Year’s Resolution was to wear more high heeled shoes.
  4. Which means I have to keep buying more heels.
  5. The King and I were married in Seattle in August, 2000.
  6. Our relationship started online. I know this is the hi-tech age, but this still embarrasses me.
  7. Our first kid was born almost six years later on April 18th, 2006.
  8. Babboo was our third pregnancy.
  9. I was diagnosed with MTHFR after two miscarriages.
  10. I am the second of four kids. Two boys and two girls.
  11. My siblings are all so different from each other.
  12. Of course I’m the “favorite”.
  13. My Mom told me her goal was for all of us to feel like we were her favorite.
  14. I guess she succeeded.
  15. I had really, really long hair until I was in college.
  16. I was sick of it and had my roommate cut it off on day.
  17. It took a more professional cut to fix what my roommate had done to it.
  18. I’m quite confident in saying I will never, ever have such long hair again.
  19. Nor will I ever force a future daughter into having hair she doesn’t like.
  20. The hair was not pretty and really did hinder my self-esteem in high school.
  21. As did my jacked up teeth.
  22. I finally got braces as an adult.
  23. Best bazillions dollars I’ve ever spent.
  24. Sometimes at work I get too lazy to get up and go to the potty.
  25. This is not a good habit.
  26. I was raised very religiously and still live my life accordingly.
  27. We love Jesus at our house and try to take His teachings and live our lives to make Him happy.
  28. We are the cool kind of Christians that you hear about, but never meet.
  29. I have an addictive personality.
  30. So it’s a good thing I never got into drugs.
  31. I will only eat candy at work that is individually wrapped. I don’t trust where my coworkers hands have been.
  32. The King and I like to travel to Europe. Mostly it’s because he lived in Germany in his early 20’s and therefore speaks German fluently.
  33. That makes European travel much easier.
  34. I had only flown on a plane one time before I met The King.
  35. Now we fly all over.
  36. I am a divorcee.
  37. I got married (the first time) when I was 22. We only made it a little over a year.
  38. Although it sucked at the time, it was all for the best.
  39. I was raised in a very small town in the middle of nowhere.
  40. I always knew I wasn’t meant to live in such seclusion.
  41. I have always been a City Girl.
  42. This was fully realized the first time I came to Seattle.
  43. I just felt like home.
  44. I’ve lived here since 2000, but I still miss my family and friends that I left behind.
  45. I’ve made some pretty great friends here in Seattle.
  46. I am usually always cold.
  47. I like to take naps.
  48. But The King is the anti-nap.
  49. I’ve seen all of the living Beatles in concert.
  50. If you think about that, it’s not that impressive.
  51. It’s only Paul and Ringo.
  52. Although I have seen Paul twice.
  53. Once when I was pregnant. So I figure Babboo can say he was there.
  54. Technically, he was.
  55. I had some rough years in my early 20’s.
  56. But I’m fine now.
  57. And dude, I’ve grown so much.
  58. People who knew me then wouldn’t even recognize me now.
  59. That’s fine by me.
  60. I’m not sure my first husband would even recognize me.
  61. I love food.
  62. I try to be active enough that my food eating won’t catch up with me.
  63. I hate to exercise.
  64. But I love to walk.
  65. I have a fear of zipping my nipples in a jacket zipper.
  66. I get nervous when I do things for the first time.
  67. After I do them once, I’m good to go.
  68. I hate wearing my glasses.
  69. But have recently realized they are my trademark.
  70. I still hate wearing them.
  71. I don’t have a septum in my nose. At all.
  72. My nose will most likely collapse at some point.
  73. I hope this doesn’t happen in public.
  74. I believe that hair free is the way to be.
  75. It’s just a cleaner way to live.
  76. If you don’t believe me, give it a try.
  77. I wear a size 7.5 shoe.
  78. That seems to always be the size on display at the stores.
  79. It makes it convenient to try on shoes.
  80. I just learned how to swim a few years ago.
  81. It makes visiting the beach much nicer.
  82. I got my period when I was 12.
  83. I don’t think that’s young.
  84. But I was the first of my friends to start.
  85. I was 16 when I first kissed a boy.
  86. I mean, I guess I should tell you that while I’m here being so honest.
  87. I tried to train my hair to not require me to wash it that often.
  88. It never worked.
  89. I tried this for over a year.
  90. The King and I built our first house together.
  91. It wasn’t fun.
  92. Looking back, it really cemented us as a couple.
  93. It gave me a sense of self-satisfaction I will probably never get again.
  94. I mean, how many people can say they built a house?
  95. I was basically raised without a TV
  96. I love TV now.
  97. I’m trying to not watch so much of it.
  98. And instead read more book.
  99. I love my husband.
  100. And our son.
